The Community Achievement Awards occur twice a year. This semester we are recognizing exceptional student leaders in the fields of Art, Media, Philanthropy, and Entrepreneurship.

Daniel Neuhaus is a Toronto native whose passions span the full spectrum of the image arts. While pursuing his degree in cinema studies at the University of Toronto, he apprenticed as a projectionist, worked on various photography and film projects, dabbled in film festival programming and travelled the world. He joined Toronto Life magazine as the photography editor in 2010.
In 2001, David joined the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) as Director of Major Gifts and moved into his current position as Director of Board and Executive Relations in 2006. David also worked on the design and construction of TIFF Bell Lightbox.
Prior to TIFF, David worked at U of T as the Senior Development Officer for three of UofT’s colleges and in various fundraising roles with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
David chairs the board of Inside Out, an LGBT group who annually host the Inside Out Film Festival in both Toronto and Ottawa. He is also on the board of the Volcano Theatre Company and the board of the Canadian Sports Film Festival.
Founder & Executive Director, Students Offering Support
A 2008 graduate of the Business and Computer Science program at Wilfrid Laurier University, Greg has spent the last seven years building Students Offering Support from a student club on campus to an international social venture. He has been honored as a recipient of Waterloo's Top 40 Under 40, and was awarded a Special Citation for Social Entrepreneurship in E&Y's Entrepreneur of the Year program. The organizational Greg has developed integrates the impact of charity with the efficiencies and scalability of an enterprising business, empowering university students with self-driven opportunities to affect local and global social change.
Jennifer is the National Programs Manager at the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR). She started working at CANFAR in 2010, as the Bilingual National Programs Assistant, and focused primarily on CANFAR’s youth programming, and specifically the Have a Heart for CANFAR Program. Today Jennifer oversees CANFAR’s youth programs, including the Kisses 4 CANFAR campaign, which aims to find new ways of engaging youth in the fight against HIV & AIDS. Jennifer is a member of CANFAR’s Young Professional Council (YPC), whose goals are to raise both funds and awareness for AIDS research in the young professional community. She also currently acts as the Social Media Manager at Noble Ridge Vineyard & Winery.
Jennifer graduated from Queen’s University with her Bachelor of Arts & Science Honours in Psychology, and received her International Studies Certificate in 2010.

The Community Achievement Award for Art recognizes a student who exhibits creative excellence and superior accomplishments in the arts - whether that’s in visual arts, theatre, dance, music, etc.
Media
The Community Achievement Award for Media recognizes a student for their exemplary work covering issues that impact their community. You don't have to be in journalism or broadcasting to be recognized for this Award – bloggers, social media gurus and YouTube vloggers who enhance the understanding of important topics within their communities should apply too.
Philanthropy
The Community Achievement Award for Philanthropy recognizes a student who is devoted to making a positive impact in the lives of others. We're looking for someone who contributes their time and talent to making this world a better place.
Entrepreneurship
The Community Achievement Award for Entrepreneurship recognizes a student who is a real self- starter. Entrepreneurs see something that needs to be done and they take the initiative to get it done. This Award is directed at innovative student leaders that are focused on bringing change to their communities through their work.
